Garrard County Fire District One provides decontamination for Vice-Presidential debate

The Garrard County Fire District One provided hazardous materials decontamination for the Vice-Presidential debate on October 11 in Danville KY.  GCFD #1 was responsible for any hazardous materials decon for the large crowds that gathered for the debate.  We were assigned to establish basic decon in the Ephraim Mcdowell Hospital parking lot, with the task of standing by in case any haz-mat release occured.  GCFD #1 was requested by the Danville Fire Department, who was overwhelmed by other tasks relating to the debate.  GCFD #1 was on scene from 10:30 am to 11:30 pm.  Luckily, the decontamination was not needed as the debate went on without any major issues.
