The Garrard County Fire District One is a strong supporter of fire prevention. We believe that an effective fire prevention program will reduce in loss of life, as well as reducing property damage. We are proud to offer fire prevention services for community and civic groups such as schools, daycares, and churches.
If you are interested in having members of Garrard County Fire District One come and give a fire prevention presentation, please fill out the form under the Fire Prevention tab on the left. We are glad to offer Controlled Burn Requests on our website now. If you would like to have a burn on your property, please fill out the form located under the Controlled Burn Requests tab on the left. Please complete this form at least 12 hours prior to burning.
By completing this form, you allow GCFD #1 to be updated on burns in our jurisdiction. After filling out the form, you will be contacted within 12 hours regarding your burn. We require that you follow the Kentucky Division of Air Quality standards, as the overview can be found http://air.ky.gov/Pages/OpenBurning.aspx. Mission Statement
To provide fire protections and suppresion within their legal boundaryto the level of training, which has been recieved by its members with the equipment, provided.
To provide a fire prevention program to the extent that is practical and to the best of our ability.
To provide basic assistance emergency service, or rescue comparable to the training and ability of the members to the extent that equipment allows.
To assist the district in a manner required to the extent practicaland feasible within the fire department Standard Operating Procedures.
To assist neighboring fire departments with mutual aid or automatic aid to the extent the district protected by this department is not left in danger.
To obtain the latest in training techniques to the best of our ability and within our budgetary and practical allowance.
To be financially responsible with the district's money provided and the equipment owned by this department.
To maintain a fire department that this district can be proud of and strive to bring no dishonor upon the fire department or the district served by it.
